Building Energy Ratings (BER’s)

‘Progressive Energy Consultancy’ specialise in Building Energy Ratings (BER’s) for new and existing houses and apartments. We are based in Carrick-on-Shannon in South Leitrim and provide our services throughout Connaught, the Midlands, Border counties and Dublin. Annual BER certificates are also provided for large public buildings such as schools, libraries, community centres etc. From 1st January 2009 these public buildings over 1000m2 are required to display their BER in a prominent area of the building. We offer a prompt, professional and reliable BER service at very competitive rates. We also offer considerable discounts for multiple and additional property’s, which require a BER. All staff are fully trained in providing accurate BER certificates for all new and existing dwellings. From 2009 all existing dwellings offered for sale or lease are legally required to have a valid BER certificate, so that prospective buyers and tenants can take a property’s energy efficiency into account when buying or renting a house or apartment. We also provide provisional certificates for new dwellings. A Provisional Cert is valid for two years and must be shown to prospective house buyers. Its aim is to allow buildings to be sold from construction plans.
